Depending on your style and needs island hoods can be quite expensive where you could spend up to £1,000.00 but it will be the best on the market; however, there are some nice island hoods for under £200.00 for those with a budget which needs to be kept in line. Typically the basic island hood is more than enough to cope with your needs unless you use the kitchen to its full potential cooking a lot of spicy dishes or fish.

The step by step guide to purchasing an Island Hood
Choosing an Island Hood
When you are ready to purchase your island hood keep in mind that it is not necessary to match the width of the hob and hood. For instance, you can fit a 90 cm hood over a 60 cm hob just make sure that the island hood is at least as wide as the hob in order to maximize your island hoods full potential. Island hoods must be fixed to the ceiling via a joist in order to obtain a secure fixing.
There needs to be sufficient support, if you do not have sufficient support then this will not work correctly. Another key issue is to make sure and check your ceiling heights, even though island hoods do have an adjustable chimney section, you don’t want to end up with
a measurement which is too low or too high.

The most popular manufacturers for integrated hoods include: AEG, Baumatic, Belling, Bosch, CDA, De Detrich, Elica, Electrolux, Fagor, Hotpoint, Ignis, Indesit, Neff, New World, Siemens, Technik, Whirlpool, and Zanussi.

The Best Products to Consider
AEG and Elica is the best quality product one can buy on the market. One thing I have noticed though is that Elica offers a wider range of design concepts whereas AEG has
more of a functional design along with Bosch and Britanna taking the lead in the higher priced products which to me are not very ‘pretty’ as they are very plain and square.
The island hoods with the curved glass really create such a modern, classic look but I just keep wondering how hard it is to keep the glass clean from the grease. With this said I do like the unique design of the Elica 44 cm island hood but it would have to fit the right décor.
Below we list the top recommended products to consider when buying online. We only offer unbiased advice and we do not persuade towards any products for the benefit of any suppliers or manufacturers.
